He received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School in 1968 and did a clinical (rotating) intership at Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia 1968-1969, he completed his residency at Presbyterian University Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Browarsky has held a staff position at Tampa General Hospital since 1975 and is currently the Medical Director of the Laboratory. He is a Clinical Associate Professor with the University of South Florida and has been the Medical Director of the School of Medical Technology at Tampa General Hospital since 1977. Dr. Browarsky is a member of the American Pathology Foundation, the College of American Pathologists, the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the United States & Canadian Academy of Pathology, the Florida West Coast Association of Pathologists, the Society of Hematopathology, and the Florida Society of Pathologists.
